PURPOSE: To obtain a superconductive cable high in superconductive property and mechanical strength by collecting each wire so that specific elements may be included in plural copper alloy wires or metal wires which neighbor each other so as to insert into a metal pipe and applying heat treatment after execution of diameter contraction processing.
CONSTITUTION: Plural wires of Y-Cu alloy wires 1, Ba-Cu alloy wires 2 and copper wires 3 in which fine grains of copper oxide are dispersed are bundled in a specific layout and this is inserted into a Y-Cu alloy pipe 4. Further, this is applied with diameter contraction processing and then, heat treatment. In this way, an oxide superconductor having uniform crystal stracture can be created in the continued condition over the whole length of the superconductor, and a superconductor high in mechanical strength can be made.
