Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a thermoplastic sheet or film superior in appearance characteristics such as gloss or surface smoothness, by a method wherein extruded filmy thermoplastic resin is made into a sheetlike state by cooling while pinching and pressing the same between a cast drum and metallic endless belt.
CONSTITUTION: Filmy thermoplastic resin (such as polypropylene) extruded through a T die in a molten state is made into a sheetlike state by cooling while pinching and pressing between a metallic endless belt 4 put on the first metallic roller 5 and a cast drum 34. Gloss and surface smoothness of a thermoplastic resin sheet or film 9 manufactured in this manner are made favorable and appearance characteristics can be improved.
