To provide a manufacturing cell simplifying exchange of tooling concerning a plurality of manufacturing cells including metal machining work gathered at adjacent places at a production site of a plant.
This module type tooling device 10 is constituted of a basic part 20 having a pocket 30 and an insertion body 50 to be semi-permanently inserted into the pocket. The insertion body has a work support part 71 to support and fix a work at a proper position and in orientation. The basic part, the pocket and the insertion body are constituted to give the characteristic position and orientation to the work against the basic part and a metal working machine. The module type tooling device machines a family of a work member related but different in detail by inserting an insertion body member from a family of the insertion body and properly arranging and orientating the corresponding work member without exchanging, removing or moving the basic part.
