PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To exclude all the manual works from production processes, perfectly make devices automatic, and make the mass production of nipples possible with high productivity, by providing in order a material supply device, an engaging part bending device, a cylindrical material forming device, and a bulging device, and in order working processing a band steel coil material.
SOLUTION: A band steel coil material M1 having plate width corresponding to the tube length of a nipple 1 is fed, and at first every length corresponding to the circumferential length of an objective nipple bore diameter is cut off by a material supply device 2. Next after the fixed ranges on the front and rear ends of the cut material M2 are bent in the opposite direction to each other at respectively fixed acute angles by an engaging part bending device 3, the bent material M3 is formed into a nearly cylindrical shape by a cylindrical material forming device 4, and the bent ranges on both ends are engaged with each other. Next in a bulging device 5, the cylindrical material M4 is pinchedly pressed by a die on the outer circumference side and press-in of an elastic body on the circumference side, in addition to form a swelling projection on the center, the engaging parts are caulked to form a seam, and hence the nipple 1 is completed.
