PURPOSE: To accommodate the optical fiber core line to the groove without fail by causing the groove pitch detecting tool to stop at the same phase of the groove and shift together with the sliding substrate when the pitch of the groove of the spacer with a groove is disturbed.
CONSTITUTION: An insert piece 32 of a groove pitch detecting tool 33 supported to a sliding substrate 10 detects the pitch of a groove 1 of a spacer 2 with a groove to drop an optical fiber core line 6, and when the change of the length exists at the pitch of the groove 1, the sliding substrate 10 in a single body to this is shifted together with the groove pitch detecting tool 33 in the dislocation direction of the groove pitch, and corresponds to the dislocation of the groove pitch. Consequently, a core line retaining tool 27 also always follows a core line dropping position 26 in which the optical fiber core line 6 and the groove 1 are coincident, and regardless of the change of the groove pitch, the optical fiber core line 6 is dropped into the groove without fail. An energizing means 40 prevents the sliding substrate 10 from being pulled in the forward direction of the spacer 2 with the groove by the friction force to operate to the insert piece 32 of the groove pitch detecting tool 33.
