Abstract:
To provide a method for producing a novel R-T-B-based sintered magnet capable of further increasing a yield.SOLUTION: There is provide a method for producing an R-T-B based sintered magnet which comprises: a step of preparing a workpiece of a powder compact of a rare earth alloy for an R-T-B based sintered magnet; a step of cutting the workpiece to divide the workpiece into a plurality of molding pieces; and a step of sintering the molding pieces. The step of dividing the workpiece into a plurality of molding pieces comprises a step of cutting the workpiece by a wire saw including a plurality of abrasive grains having an average grain size of 1 μm or more and 24 μm or less and an element wire to which the plurality of abrasive grans adhere to recover powder particles of a rare earth alloy cut out from the workpiece.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1A
