Abstract:

To prevent generation of a fault in outside surface appearance of a DI aluminum can body when the can body is manufactured.

An aluminum thin plate or aluminum alloy thin plate is punched off in a bottomed cylindrical cup shape, and the can body having the bottomed cylindrical cup shape is formed by a DI machining method. After the inner and outer faces of the can body is degreased and washed, a chemically inert undercoating film e.g. an undercoating film having oxide or hydroxide whose main component is aluminum as a main component is formed on the surface of the can body. After washed with water, the can body is washed with pure water and dried at high temperature, thus the aluminum DI can body is manufactured.
