To provide a manufacturing method for an armature capable of regulating a shift between a laminated core and a shaft in axial and circumferential directions.
This manufacturing method for the armature includes a process of forming the laminated core 30 by laminating a plurality pieces of core sheets 31. The shaft 17 having an outer diameter which is at and less than an inner diameter of a through hole 38 is inserted in the through hole 38 of the laminated core 30. The shaft 17 is rotatably retained by a pair of retaining members 41, 41. Two pairs of rolling rolls 42, 42 which are formed in pair are brought into press contact with a part which faces both edge surfaces of the laminated core 30 of the shaft 17 respectively to store a plastic deformation part 44 which is plastically deformed by the pair of the rolling rolls 42, 42 in a plastic deformation storing part 35 formed at an inner circumferential surface of the laminated core 30, thus regulating the shift between the laminated layer core with the shaft in the axial and circumferential directions by fitting the plastic deformation part in the plastic deformation storing part.
