PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for artificial veneer which enables even expression of patterns of the kind of tree having thin grain patterns existing between grains, in regard to the manufacturing method of the artificial veneer similar in patterns to the wood of a broad-leaved tree.
SOLUTION: Dyed veneer 1 formed of the wood material of a broad-leaved tree or the like is glued and a plurality of sheets thereof are stacked together. Then, the sheets are curved and molded integrally in a mold 2 composed of a top force 2a and a bottom tool 2b and a laminated flitch 2 thus obtained is sliced. Veneer 4 for non-grain pattern expression thus formed and veneer 5 for grain pattern expression manufactured separately are stacked in a plurality with interfaces thereof glued and then they are curved and molded integrally in the same mold 2 as used for manufacturing the veneer 4. A laminated flitch 6 thus obtained is sliced to obtain the artificial veneer 7. Therefor the artificial veneer 7 having such various patterns as ones of the kind of the tree having thin grain patterns, or the like, and provided with patterns more approximate to grain patterns of natural wood is obtained.
