To provide a manufacturing method of a bush with an oil reservoir blind groove for a chain capable of efficiently mass-producing multiple oil reservoir blind grooves in the inner peripheral surface of a cylindrical member formed without generatrix-like joint.
The bush with an oil reservoir blind groove for a chain is manufactured by forming a thin-bottomed cylindrical member, which is formed by extruding a cylindrical raw material, into a thin-bottomed cylindrical member provided with a tapered inner peripheral surface 106a having a diameter to be narrowed as it comes inward from an opening end, and pushing a blind groove forming die pin DP6, which is provided with a plurality of blind groove forming projections in the peripheral surface thereof, into the thin-bottomed cylindrical member from an opening of the thin-bottomed cylindrical member so as to form the thin-bottomed cylindrical member 107 opened on the tapered inner peripheral surface 106a side thereof and provided with a plurality of oil reservoir blind grooves 107a in the inner peripheral surface thereof by carving, and thereafter, resetting the tapered inner peripheral surface 106a to the cylindrical shape, and punching out the bottom thereof.
