Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming an inner-peripheral groove of a sintered bearing by which the inner-peripheral groove can be formed with certainty even in the case of a bearing stock which is free from spring back or of which spring back cannot be expected.
SOLUTION: A core rod 30 having a small-diameter part 31 and a large- diameter part 32 is inserted into a shaft hole W1 of a cylindrical work W composed of a sintered compact. An operation in which the large-diameter part 32 is pressed on the inner-peripheral surface of the work W while vibrating the core rod 30 in a radial direction to strike the inner-peripheral surface of the work W with the large-diameter part 32 is allowed to run over the whole peripheral region.
