Abstract:
Provided is a method for producing cellulose nanofibers capable of providing a low-viscosity cellulose nanofiber dispersion liquid and having stable quality less prone to coloring even after being heated. The present invention provides a method for producing cellulose nanofibers having a number-average fiber length of not more than 500 µm and a number-average fiber diameter of not more than 100 nm, the method comprising a step (1) for preparing a pulp derived from wood, and a step (2) for defibrating said pulp, wherein when the wood is made into a pulp under a Kraft pulp producing condition in which the added amount of active alkali is 15%, the sulfidity is 25%, liquid ratio is 2.5 L/kg, and the H-factor is 830, the resultant pulp has a fiber length distribution in that the percentage of components having a fiber length of not less than 1.00 mm as measured according to ISO 16065-2 is not more than 20%.
