To provide a method for producing coke for blast furnaces, comprising mixing dust coal with waste plastics, press-molding the mixture, charging the obtained cob coal and large particle coal in a coke oven, and then carbonizing the mixture, by which the amount of the waste plastics treated can be increased, while preventing the deterioration in the quality of the coke.
This method for producing the coke for the blast furnaces with the waste plastics comprises drying blended coal, then or simultaneously classifying into dust coal and large particle coal, mixing the obtained dust coal heated at ≥120°C with crushed and sieved general waste plastics having sizes having the largest thickness of ≤0.8 mm and the largest length of ≤15 mm, hot press-molding the mixture into cob coal, mixing the cob coal with the large particle coal, and then charging and carbonizing the mixture in a coke oven.
