Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of an exhaust system component that subjects a work piece prepared by brazing a member made of ferritic stainless steel to highly anticorrosive surface treatment.SOLUTION: A manufacturing method of an exhaust system component that subjects a work piece of an exhaust system component to brazing and nitrogen absorption treatment, the work piece being prepared by combining a member made of ferritic stainless steel with a brazing material. The work piece is prepared by combining the member made of stainless steel with the brazing material having a higher melting point than a copper-based brazing material and not substantially containing any nickel, and subjected to brazing and nitrogen absorption treatment. The brazing and the nitrogen absorption treatment may be simultaneously practiced.
