Abstract:
To manufacture a honeycomb structure excellent in productivity and improved in characteristics.SOLUTION: A manufacturing method for a honeycomb structure, in which a plurality of corrugated sheets in which peaks and valleys are alternately formed are combined, includes: preparing a plurality of corrugated sheets having at least one of recesses extending along a thickness direction of the honeycomb structure in the peaks and projections extending along the thickness direction of the honeycomb structure in the valleys; and forming a honeycomb structure in which a plurality of cells are arranged including a pair of opposite partitions having a double wall structure, by combining the peaks and valleys of the corrugated sheets different from each other. In a honeycomb structure surface, each cell is surrounded by six other cells. In formation of the honeycomb structure, a space different from the cells is formed in at least a part of the partitions of the double wall structure, by using the recesses or the projections.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
