To provide a manufacturing method of inkjet recording paper which is free from a coating failure such as a crease failure or coating nonuniformity.
The manufacturing method of the inkjet recording paper comprises a process wherein a coating solution containing at least particulates and a binder is applied onto a substrate and then dried to form a porous film, a process wherein an additive containing solution is applied beforehand onto a transfer roll to form a coating film, on the occasion when the additive containing solution is applied onto the formed porous film, and a process wherein the coating film formed on the transfer roll is transferred onto the porous film to form a surface layer. In this method, the application onto the transfer roll is performed by a coating system of a pre-measurement type. Besides a means for scraping the solution on the transfer roll is provided and the solution on the transfer roll is scraped by the scraping means until the application begins.
