Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a metallic composite material making use of the liquid phase sintering which is capable of improving the interface strength of short fibers for reinforcement with a matrix, and suppressing the generation of a reaction phase causing problems in strength. SOLUTION: In the manufacturing method of the metallic composite material making use of the liquid phase sintering with a metallic material 13 as the matrix and ceramic fibers 10 or metallic fibers as short fibers for reinforcement, a coating layer of copper or cobalt 11 is formed on the short fibers for reinforcement, and the liquid phase sintering in which the coating layer and the matrix generate a eutectic alloy phase 21 is carried out.
