Abstract:
To provide efficient manufacturing method of a norbornene-based copolymer excellent in transparency, heat resistance, low water absorbance, and electric insulation property in a good working environment.SOLUTION: In a manufacturing method of a norbornene polymer by addition polymerizing a monomer containing norbornene in the presence of a polymerization solvent, a capturing process for bubbling an exhaust gas containing gasified norbornene in a solvent for capturing consisting of at least one kind of solvent selected from aliphatic acid ester and aromatic hydrocarbon and absorbing the norbornene is included. The norbornene-based copolymer is preferably one having a monomer unit represented by the general formula (1) and the general formula (2), and the solvent for capturing is preferably adjusted to have conductivity of 1.0×10S/m or more by adding alcohol. Rrepresents an alkyl group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms, and Rrepresents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms.SELECTED DRAWING: None
