Abstract:

To provide a method for manufacturing efficiently and easily a photocurable, oligomer chain-terminated (meth)acrylate which gives high crosslinking density without use of a tin compound as a catalyst.

The manufacturing method of the photocurable, oligomer chain-terminated (meth)acrylate, which is represented by formula (II), comprises subjecting a lower alkyl (meth)acrylate and an alcohol terminated with an oligomer chain, which is represented by formula (I), to transesterification in the presence of an ester exchange catalyst and then treating the obtained reaction mixture with a solid adsorbent in the presence of a mixed solvent of a hydrophilic solvent and a lipophilic solvent. In formula (I) A indicates an oligomer residue and n indicates 1 or 2. In formula (II) A and n are each as mentioned in the above and R1 indicates a hydrogen atom or a methyl group.
