Abstract:
To obtain a rotation angle detector with which it is possible to maintain the accuracy of detecting the rotation angle of a rotor.SOLUTION: The rotation angle detector comprises: a rotor rotating around a revolving shaft, which is a magnetic body having recessed and protruding portions cyclically formed on the outer circumferential surface; a detection unit composed of a magnetism detection unit, a magnetic field generation unit and a magnetism collection unit; and a rotation angle computation processing unit for computing the rotation angle of the rotor. The recessed and protruding portions are formed in a shape the distance of which to the magnetism detection unit changes continuously when rotating. The length C of the magnetism detection unit in the direction of the revolving shaft is shorter than the length of the magnetism generation and magnetism collection units in the direction of the revolving shaft, and a length A of the rotor in the direction of the revolving shaft is defined by A ≥ 2X-C, when a shift amount X is made to be the maximum value of an amount of misalignment between the rotor and the magnetism detection unit that is estimated as the distance in the direction of the revolving shaft between the center of the rotor in the direction of the revolving shaft and the center of the magnetism detection unit in the direction of the revolving shaft.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
