To provide the manufacturing method of a stainless steel container for drinks for drastically reducing discoloration and change in quality of the drinks filled into the container for drinks and inexpensively manufacturing the container for drinks by performing treatment to efficiently elute iron ions from a passive film on the inner surface of the container for drinks in a short period of time.
The manufacturing method includes: a process 104 of bringing the inner surface of the container for drinks consisting of steel sheet into contact with an aqueous solution mixture composed of nitric acid and hydrofluoric acid to remove the oxide of a weld zone and to form the passive film on the inner surface of the container; and a iron-component elution process 106 of filling an aqueous organic acid solution into the container, holding the container in an air heating furnace holding the in-furnace temperature at 80 to 100°C for a prescribed time and eluting the iron ions from the passive film on the inner surface of the container.
