Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved method of especially suppressing a trend of aggregation and re-wetting a water-absorbing polymer particle for eliminating electrostatic charging by adjusting the moisture content.SOLUTION: There is provided a manufacturing method of a water-absorbing polymer by drying, pulverizing, sizing and surface post crosslinking a polymer by solution or dispersion polymerizing an unsaturated ethylene monomer having an acid group and a crosslinking agent to obtain water-absorbing polymer particles and spraying water to and re-wetting the water-absorbing polymer particle in a mixer running at high speed under heating and cooling it. There is provided a manufacturing method of the water-absorbing polymer by re-wetting with a Froude number of 0.05 to 3 weight and peripheral speed of the mixer of 0.1 to 5 m/s in a horizontal mixer where the water-absorbing polymer particle has an initial temperature of at least 95°C and conducting a cooling gas to the re-wet water-absorbing polymer in the horizontal mixer and cooling it to less than 80°C.SELECTED DRAWING: None
