Abstract:
PURPOSE:To aim at a V-drive adoption for a ship which fails to take a large-sized engine room in the stern, by setting up a clutch shaft at the upper side of an output shaft, and also an input shaft, which is tilted to the output shaft and one side of the ends is projected to the same direction, in the upper part, while making gears of both input and output shafts so as to be engaged with each other. CONSTITUTION:When a shaft coupling 30 at the rear end side of an input shaft 25 is set to the input side and a shaft coupling 42 at the one end side of a connecting shaft 41 is connected to the input side, power is horizontally transmitted to the input shaft 25 from the connecting shaft 41, and it is transmitted to a forward clutch shaft 13 as being bent in acute angle form obliquely downward in the rear between a driving gear 26 of the input shaft 25 and a driven gear 31 of the forward clutch shaft 13. Afterward, power out of an output shaft coupling 5 of an output shaft 2 is transmitted to a propeller 39 via a propeller shaft 37. Hereat since an intershafting distance be tween the output shaft 2 and the input shaft 25 grows large, even if an engine 40 is made to come nearer to a deceleration reversing gear 35, it will not interfere with a body case of the reversing gear and the output shaft 2 or the like, V-drive specifications are adoptable even in case of such a ship which fails to take a space of an engine room so largely at the stern.
