PURPOSE: To realize the execution of high speed and clear marking at low cost under the clean state without the generation of dusts by a method wherein dented struck marks are formed by projecting a plurality of rigid wires of a marking head against an object by laterally feeding the marking head.
CONSTITUTION: The marking head 2 of a marking device 1 fixed to a bracket 3, which is pivotally attached to a guide bar 4, can be moved within the horizontal width 6 in response to the rotating of a feed screw 5. Further, a motor 9 is connected through pulleys 7 and a timing belt 8 to the feed screw 5. By the way, when the starting of marking is commanded, the feed motor 9 is driven so as to detect the commanded position of the marking head 2 with a slit disc 11 and a photointerruptor 13 so as to apply voltage from a driver to the electromagnet of the marking head 2 in order to project wires with a shock. Thus, dented struck marks similar to the conical projected parts of the tips of tire wires are formed on an object for performing marking.
