Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique which allows for adjustment of the resonance characteristics without using a high breakdown voltage component, in the resonance characteristics adjustment section of an ion trap section.SOLUTION: In a mass spectroscope, an ion trap section 3 includes a rod electrode 202, an RF signal source 201, a resonance circuit 205, resonance characteristics adjustment sections 209a, 209b, a resonance characteristics measurement section 203, and a control section 204. The resonance characteristics adjustment sections 209a, 209b for adjusting the characteristics of the resonance circuit 205 are arranged between the RF signal source 201 and the rod electrode 202, and the voltage at both ends of the resonance characteristics adjustment sections 209a, 209b is set lower than a voltage applied to the rod electrode 202.
