Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To subject a micro test piece to a tension test without any need of touching the test piece.
SOLUTION: A material test device 1 is made of a test piece 2 as a mechanical characteristic measurement object, a rotating lever 3 connected to the test piece 2, a pair of torsion bars 4 acting as an elastic support part for the rotating lever 3 and a frame 5 acting as a rigid support part for the test piece 2 and forming an outline frame. Furthermore, a vertical load W is applied to one end of the rotating lever 3, thereby applying uniaxial tension to the test piece 2 in an arrow A-A direction for measuring the mechanical characteristic of the test piece 2. In this case, the test piece 2 is formed as integral part of the frame 5 and the rotating lever 3. According to this construction, the mechanical property value of the test piece 2 can be easily measured without any need of a direct touch thereto.
