Abstract:
PURPOSE:To achieve a higher accuracy of controlling the tendency of deformation of a furnace shell, by providing markings at specified measuring points of the shell during the manufacture thereof to measure the markings after a specified period of operation. CONSTITUTION:Before the start of a lining brick laying during the manufacture of a furnace shell, a total of 18 measuring markings are provided shifted by 60 deg. circumferentially at three points in height on the inner surface of the shell 1 with a steel tap hole 1b as reference point. When measuring a radial deformation of the shell 1 after a specified period of operation, a measuring person stands on a measuring deck 7 to measure a radial distance to a piano wire 6 from the measuring markings with a straight edge 16 and the measured values are compared with respective initial values to obtain the deformation. As for the height-wise deformation, the height-wise marking position of the initial value is moved to the piano wire 6 to measure the height-wise distance to the marking from the reference height point and the measured value is compared with a initial designed value to obtain the deformation.
