Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of simply measuring SO(super oxide) elimination activity of a Chinese medicine being a multicomponent-based natural medicine on site of preparation.
SOLUTION: This method for measuring elimination activity of active oxygen species of medicines and foods by using a cytochrome-C reduction reaction comprises mixing an aqueous solution of extracted solution of a medicine or a food with cytochrome-C and hypoxanthine, formulating the mixed solution with xanthine oxidase and measuring an absorption spectrum of visible region of specimen at 549-551 nm after a fixed time.
