Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power converter having a small internal inductance and an environmentally friendly cooling mechanism.
SOLUTION: This device body 5, having an opened part 7 open with respect to the outside air and a sealed part 6 blocked form the outside accommodates a plurality of flat semiconductor elements 1 in the sealed part. In flat semiconductor elements 1, a cooler 20 radiating heat within the sealed part and a cooler 2 at which a radiating part 4 is disposed at the opened part 7 are brought into stacked layer pressure contact with each other, together with the semiconductor elements 1 to constitute a semiconductor stack. As a result, all the coolers 2, 20 need not be electrically insulated from the semiconductor elements, so that the increase in size of the device is avoided. That is, the part placed in the open part 7 of the device body 5 is formed into an insulated structure so that voltage is applied to that part, however, the cooler 20 radiating heat to the inside of the sealed part 6 of the device body 5 is brought directly into stacked layer pressure contact with the flat semiconductor element 1, which permits the cooler 20 to be used with the voltage applied.
