A telemeter system includes a master set 15 and a measuring instrument 16. The master set 15 communicates with a host computer 11 or a slave set 17, stores the meter-reading time, detects the time, transmits a signal indicating a request for meter-reading and the transmission of meter information to the measuring instrument 16, stores the plurality of received meter information, and transmits the meter information to the external host computer 11 other than the measuring instrument 16. The measuring instrument 16 includes a meter 18 for performing meter-reading according to the request of the master set 15 and the slave set 17 for transmitting the meter information acquired when the meter-reading is performed by the meter 18.
