PURPOSE: To make possible a continuous measurement quickly and simply with good accuracy, by jetting a liquid to be inspected from the lower part to an action electrode detecting a specific substance by enzyme reaction and forming a cell construction provided with a vent hole and an outflow hole of the liquid to be inspected.
CONSTITUTION: The platinum sputtered surface of an action electrode 20 fixed enzyme or coenzyme is brought into contact with a platinum plate lead 14 and is held in a fluororesin frame body 11 with a rubber packing 13. The body 11 and a nozzle part 9 are held in a resin holder 15 having a vent hole 16. A platinum opposite electrode 21 is provided at the tip end of the part 9 and also, an electrode system is constituted by the electrodes 21 and 20 providing an Ag/AgCl reference electrode 22 on a bottom face 12 of the body 11. A sample liquid is sent from a pipe 17 to a flow passage 18 of the part 9 and is jetted from the lower part toward the electrode 20 so as to form a liquid column 10 (shown by a broken line). The sample liquid is discharged quickly from a discharging flow passage 18' to an exit pipe 19 without staying in the passage 18'. In this manner, O2 is supplied sufficiently by contacting enough the column 10 with the atmosphere and quick and accurate measurement of enzyme reaction is made possible.
