Abstract:
PURPOSE:To maintain the condition of measurement having high accuracy and a high measuring speed by simultaneously using a cushioning member at the lower end of an approach bar with an optical measuring device provided with an air supply pipe. CONSTITUTION:When a stylus 6 and the approach bar 4 are positioned just above a measuring point P2, pressurized air is introduced into an air cylinder 16 through the air supply line 2. Since the dimensional items of component members are set so that pressured area 4A of the approach bar 4 may be larger than the pressured area 6A of the stylus 6, the approach bar 4 starts a descending motion previous to the descending of the stylus 6 and it descends until the cushioning member 7 comes in contact with the surface to be measured 8A of a model 8. Thereafter, the stylus 6 descends and the lower end of the stylus 6 is pressed to the measuring point P2 with specified pressing force. An air pressure detector detects this state and the measurement is started by the optical measuring device 19 based on the detection.
