To provide a compact simplified measuring head with excellent operability for an AGEs measuring apparatus by measuring human skin AGEs-derived fluorescent emission by direct conversion of the fluorescent emission into electric signals through a direct optical receiver without using conventional optical transmission means or indirect optical transmission means and without depending on an external power source during conversion into electric signals.
A measuring head for a measuring apparatus is made small enough in diameter to pick it up with fingers and incorporates: an LED light emitting part as a minimum required exciting light source; a light receiving part made from a base board-integrated spectrophotometer element; and a power source battery for supplying power to the parts. Thus the measuring head can directly convert skin AGEs-derived fluorescent emission into electric signals by the spectrophotometer element of the light receiving part to make it detectable by other devices.
