To provide a measuring instrument for hot chamber die casting machine with which a pouring vessel can surely and safely be heated by using a heating device constituted in comparatively small size.
This measuring instrument is the pouring vessel 2 fitted to a molten metal holding furnace 1 in the hot chamber die casting machine, and is provided with a standing-up flowing passage 4 in a standing-up flowing passage range 2c; the pouring vessel 2 having pouring piston unit 9, 9a for measuring and conveying molten metal through the standing-up flowing passage from the molten metal holding furnace; and heating device having a non-flame heating unit 12 for actively heating at least one portion of the standing-up flowing passage range. The heating unit is disposed in a piston-rod passing through bore 8, or disposed by electrically insulating from the standing-up flowing passage in the standing-up bore including the standing-up flowing passage, or disposed in a heater receiving space especially disposed in the pouring vessel.
