To provide a method for coupling and locking exhaust components with each other, which is easier to use and more economical than an already available conventional coupling and locking method, and assures stronger and more endurable connection than the conventional method.
The invention relates to the method for locking the exhaust components with each other, and the method comprises the following four steps: the step (a) for forming, with a single punching stroke, an exhaust component having a first face, a second face, and an embossment which is placed substantially around a continuous and nearly circular opening and has a void contiguous with the opening; the step (b) for providing an exhaust component to be joined having a leading end of which the size is made to be received by the void; the step (c) for inserting the end of the exhaust component to be joined into the void; and the step (d) for locking the exhaust component to the exhaust component to be joined, by bending a part of the embossment of the exhaust component so as to cover the leading end of the exhaust component to be joined.
