PURPOSE: To measure a shrinkage force with high efficiency and high reliability without using any thermostat by dipping a specimen which is formed by cutting part of a heat-shrinkable sheet in heating oil while the specimen is engaged with a specimen fitting tool.
CONSTITUTION: Part of the heat-shrinkable sheet 10 which has projection streaks 6 at both shrinkage-directional ends is cut in the shrinkage direction to obtain the specimen 5. The specimen 5 is folded into two at the center part and hooked to the lower end of an oscillatory arm 8, and the projections 6 are coupled with the specimen fitting tool 7. When a support frame 3 is lowered by an elevating machine in this state, the specimen 5 is dipped in the heating oil A in a heating oil tank 1 to heat the specimen 5 speedily and stably, and even when the adhesive inside the specimen 5 is fuzed, there is no slip caused between the specimen 5 and fitting tool 7 and the shrinkage force of the heat-shrinkable sheet is measured through an arm 8 and a load cell 9 with high efficiency and high reliability without using any thermostat.
