The counter for golf includes a first lever 30 that is actuated by a first pushbutton P1 against the action of a return spring 27 having at its end a nose 33 synergistically operating with a first star-shaped wheel 17 which supports the movable member 9 of a counter 8 and 9 for number of strokes per hole. The first star-shaped wheel is acted upon by a spring lock 21 and a spiral return spring 20. With respect to this mechanism, a first arm is acted upon by the return spring 27 and is provided with a second lever 24 operationally coupled with a second pushbutton P2. The first arm supports the movable member 7 of a counter 6 and 7 for number of holes, and is provided with a nose 26 that synergistically operates with the teeth of a second star- shaped wheel 13 which is acted upon by a spring lock 16.
