Abstract:
To dispense with a large and expensive cooling device in a mechanical processing method in which mechanical processing is performed while a coolant is sprinkled over a workpiece fastened to a fixing surface with the usage of a coagulating agent.
An agent which has a melting point equal to or higher than an ordinary temperature and comprises either one selected from calcium nitrate tetrahydrate, polyethylene glycol, and paraffin is used as the coagulating agent 12 for fastening the workpiece 13 to a workpiece-fastening stage 14 as the fixing surface, the coagulating agent 12 is solidified to fasten the workpiece 13 to the workpiece-fastening stage 14, and the coolant 19 at an ordinary temperature is used.
