Abstract:
To provide a media processing unit that performs a liquid application operation with a suitable liquid application amount even if there are variations in the number of paper sheets constituting a paper bundle or the paper type.SOLUTION: A medium processing unit includes: a conveying section that conveys media; liquid-applying means equipped with a liquid-applying member that applies liquid to a portion of at least one sheet of media conveyed by the conveying section; pressure-binding means that binds, by pressurization and deformation, a media bundle including at least one sheet of the media to which liquid has been applied by the liquid-applying means; and a control unit that determines a movement amount of the liquid-applying member for at least one sheet of the media based on the height information of the media and moves the liquid-applying member to the media based on the movement amount.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
