Abstract:
To provide media for direct transdifferentiation of macrophages into neurons, to provide methods for producing neurons using the media, and to provide methods for direct transdifferentiation of macrophages into neurons.SOLUTION: A medium used for direct transdifferentiation of macrophages into neurons comprises a glycogen synthase kinase 3 inhibitor, an adenylate cyclase activator, a Rho Kinase Inhibitor, a neural differentiation inducer, and a PU.1 inhibitor. A method for producing neurons and a method for direct transdifferentiation of macrophages into neurons comprise a transdifferentiation step of culturing macrophages with the medium comprising a glycogen synthase kinase 3 inhibitor, an adenylate cyclase activator, a Rho Kinase Inhibitor, a neural differentiation inducer, and a PU.1 inhibitor to directly transdifferentiate them into neurons.SELECTED DRAWING: None
