To provide a medical material and a production method thereof which achieve a higher success in the medical treatment as for the epithelial cells such as keratocornea epithelial cells using the amnion.
The medical material contains the amnion as the placental tissue, a polymer membrane which is bonded on one surface of the amnion and undergoes the crosslinking connection processing and the cells adhering onto the other surface of the amnion. The production method of the medical material includes a step of preparing the amnion cleared of the sponge layer, a step in which a biocompatible polymer membrane is bonded on one surface of the amnion and undergoes the crosslinking connection processing, a step of making the epithelial stem cells adhere onto the other surface of the amnion and a step of making the epithelial cells breed on the surface of the amnion from the epithelial stem cells.
