Abstract:
To provide a new medicinal composition slight in side effects, having activity on even emerging virus, and also having anti-inflammatory activities on gingivostomatitis, wounds, burn, etc.
The new medicinal composition contains as active ingredient for antiviral or anti-inflammatory activity a phenol derivative of the formula or a pharmacologically or pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof. In the formula, R4 is a substituent represented by either R, COOR, COOH, OCOR, OR, R0OR, SR or N(R,R); R1, R2 and R3 are each H or a substituent represented by either OH, OR, OCOR or COR, wherein R is a (substituted) chain hydrocarbon group or cyclic hydrocarbon group which may constitute a ring via heteroatom(s), and R0 is a hydrocarbon chain.
