Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a medicine composition capable of alleviating nephrotoxicity and vasculotoxicity, being orally and parenterally administered, containing an (alkanoyl)L-carnitine (salt), an immunosuppressant medicine and an excipient. SOLUTION: This composition comprises (A) L-carnitine, an alkanoyl L- carnitine containing a 2-6C alkanoyl group (e.g. acetyl, propionyl, butyryl, valeryl or isovaleryl) an active ingredient, (B) an immunosuppressant medicine selected from cyclosporin A, tacrolilmus, rapamicine and deoxyspergualine and (C) a pharmacologically acceptable excipient. The administration of propionyl-L- carnitine is especially suitable for making toxic side effects of an immunosuppressant medicine almost zero and is especially remarkable in the liver.
