To obtain a new medicine compound having activities as an antipsychotic agent or a painkiller, etc., and useful for curing of neuropathyl such as a disease of a central nervous system, e.g. a nervous denatured disease.
This medicine compound is composed of a compound expressed by the formula I or its salt or ester [R1 is H, hydroxy, etc.; R2 is H, carboxy, etc.; R3 is H, a 1-4C alkoxy, etc.; R4 is fluoro, a 1-6C alkyl, a (substituted) aryl, etc.], for instance, 2-amino-2-(2-methyl-3-hydroxy-4-carboxyphenyl) acetic acid. The compound of the formula I is produced by hydrolyzing a compound expressed by the formula II (R"" is an acyl, e.g. acetyl) by an acid (e.g. hydrochloric acid) or a base (e.g. NaOH) in a solvent, e.g. in water at a high temperature of 80-150°C. The medicine composition of the formula I is used to oral administration, injection, etc., and its using amount per 1 day is usually in a range of 5-100mg/kg.
