To provide a melting device and a melting method capable of preventing unexpected lowering of a temperature of a molten liquid-phase material in a material temperature retaining pool to reduce the load to a heating means for retaining a material temperature, improving the quality of the material in the material temperature retaining pool, and simplifying molten bath taking-out work.
This melting device comprises a melting device main body, a material melting portion, a melting material heating pool, a melting material temperature retaining pool, a material heating means for directly heating the liquid-phase material introduced to the melting material heating pool, and indirectly heating a solid-phase melting object material in the material melting portion to heat/melt the material, and a heating means for retaining the material temperature, heating the liquid-phase material introduced to the melting material temperature retaining pool to retain its temperature.
