Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce the consumption of carbon electrodes, enhance power units and extend the lifetime of refractory bricks.

CONSTITUTION: In terms of a melting furnace which melts refuse incinerated ashes based on a direct heating system, a direct current(DC) power source is used. The negative terminal of the power source is connected to an upper carbon electrode 2 whose tip is buried in molten slugs 6, while the positive terminal is connected to a furnace bottom electrode 10. Power is supplied between these electrodes, thereby heating and melting the refuse incinerated ashes.
