This melting furnace burns the generated gas at a high temperature, and forms the molten slag by gathering and melting ash on a furnace wall surface by blowing and mixing the unburnt generated gas including the ash, and the combustion air or the combustion gas in the furnace, and is characterized by arranging eaves 24 composed of a refractory material projecting in the furnace by a prescribed dimension on a furnace wall inside surface 22a of a tip upper part of the blowing-in nozzle 21 for blowing the generated gas or the combustion air or the combustion gas in the furnace.
