Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a melting and igniting device in which an inclined lateral sub-combustion device is connected below a vertical main combustion device and a fuel containing either unignitable or hard-to-ignite substances is processed.
CONSTITUTION: A gas burner 10 and a CaO feeding nozzle 11 are arranged at an upstream front surface of a sub-combustion device 5. In the case that a high viscosity of slag is found, the slag is heated or its melting point is decreased and then the slag is discharged stably from a slag tap 6. In addition, a longitudinal bank plate is arranged at a bottom part of the sub-combustion device 5 so as to prevent gas from being circulated and to enable a slag layer to be prevented from being reduced in its thickness.
