PURPOSE: To enhance the thermal shock resistance of a member to be dipped in a molten metal bath by coating the surface of the member of a hot dipping device with a substance having specific porosity and thickness.

CONSTITUTION: In a hot dipping device, a thermal shock resistant coating is formed on the surface of the parts to be dipped in or contacted with the molten metal bath such as molten aluminum or molten zinc. The coating consists of one or more out of Co, WC, Cr, and Ni, and one or more out of B, Si and C. The porosity of the coating is 0.05W2.0% and the thickness 0.1W2.4mm.
