Abstract:

To suitably treat even water to be treated of low BOD.

Bubbles are blown up from below a membrane unit 6 and also particles 14 of 1-10 mm diameter having specific gravity smaller than that of water to be treated are floated together with the bubbles 10 to wash the outer surface of the membrane unit 6 by the bubbles 10 and the particles 14. The floated particles 14 are recovered from a particle suction pipe 16 and returned to a particle discharge pipe 15 by a particle pump 18 and re-discharged into the water to be treated and circulated. In this way, in the case BOD of the water to be treated is low, by reducing the blown quantity of air, excess air is prevented from diffusing malodor and also the waste of operation energy is eliminated. Even when the blown quantity of air is reduced, sufficient washing effect is obtained.
